What is Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP)?
Blood, also called plasma, contains red cells, white cells and platelets. The platelets are known for their importance in clotting blood. However, platelets contain numerous proteins called growth factors, which are very important in the healing of injuries, facial rejuvenation and hair growth. Basically, PRP contains 5-10 times more platelets than what is typically found in blood.
How is Platelet Rich Plasma prepared?

Low platelet count (thrombocytopenia), anticoagulant therapy (Coumadin/Warfarin, Plavix, Aspirin, etc,.), active infection, tumor, metastatic disease, pregnancy and cancer.
How long is the procedure?
The procedure takes 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the size of the area treated.
